Fledge Shawl
A top-down, triangular shawl with bands of airy lace and stockinette, Fledge is a tribute to feathers and air, named for the first flying horse. Straightforward stitch patterns and lots of rest rows make this a nice way to ease into lace knitting. The double eyelets create a very open lace. Designed to use a single skein, Fledge is a great way to feature some hand dyed yarn. Shown in small fingering weight shawl, or medium lace weight shawl.

Yarn Small: 1 skein Sweatermaker Yarns Marjorie, fingering weight, 50% silk 50% merino, 100 g/350 m per skein Medium: 1 skein SweetGeorgia Merino/Silk Fine 50% silk 50% merino, 100 g/700 m per skein
Finished Measurements Small (Medium) 48 (60)" wide by 24 (30)" high after blocking
Tension/gauge Approx 18 (21.5) sts and 30 (34) rows = 4"/10cm in St st, blocked Final gauge depends on how aggressively you block. Gauge is not crucial for this project, but you do want to make sure the shawl is large enough to wrap around your shoulders, and loosely knit enough to have some drape.
Needles US 6/4.0mm circular needles, long enough to accommodate a large number of stitches.
